The sound of bubbles…

Foam city

What is good communication? Saying everything in six words, only? It’s easy, some people say.

What about using no words at all? Like Sony, in their Foam city ad. No words and still, after just one look, or rather listen-through, I recall the ad (and brand) by the subtle soundtrack. Well done!

I will have to disagree. No, actually not disagree, because maybe Sony have succeeded in making their brand recognizable. But in my humble opinion they have failed miserable with this add. Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t think so. This add takes my thoughts towards huge accidents. I think if you ask any New Yorker they might agree with me…. Or maybe I’m the only one thinking 9/11?

Just to give an example. I know it’s not in the same proportion as 9/11, but this is what I have the rights to. It’s a video from December when Aarhus Karlshamn burned. Take a look and you might see my point.

My first thought when seeing this was also 9/11.

It’s all in the eyes of the beholder, right? Too bad that a tragedy like 9/11 has ruined the innocent beauty of bubbles for you.
